Re: Visitation Rights of a Aunt - ME

The child's parent(s) gets to make the decision with whom
    her/his child visits.

Unless your state has a statute that provides for a relative's
visitation AND that law has been found in compliance with the
U.S. constitution, you have NO rights to visitation.

"... The U.S. Constitution protects the right of parents to
"establish a home and bring up their children." ... "the care,
custody and nurture of the child reside first in the parents,
whose primary function and freedom include preparation for
obligations the state can neither supply nor hinder." ... the
United States Supreme Court concluded "that a parent who
provides adequate care for her/his children must be able to
decide with whom her/his children will associate. To leave
such decisions up to a judge, in the view of the Supreme
Court, would conflict with a parent's basic constitutional
    rights..."
