    Post: Selective Prosecution

    Posted by JJ on 4/02/03

I was camping with my friends and we were all drinking
there. One of my friends left and got pulled over for
speeding. He and the passenger got MIP's but the girl in
the back seat didnt. they two boys in the front were 18 and
the girl was 17. The cops let my friend drive off because
he did not blow above a .08.
The cops came to the camp site and we were all in bed. They
got us out of our tents and asked if we have been drinking.
We said "yes." the cops said they have a "ZERO TOLERANCE
POLICY" for anyone who had been drinking. they said anyone
who had been drinking will get MIP's. He started with the
two other guys at the camp site. Without even testing us he
gave us MIP's because we said he had been drinking. We were
both 18 also. There were 8 girls there that were 16-17 and
they all failed the tests. The cops said they would cut us
a deal and not issue anymore MIP's.
The 4 guys that were camping got MIP's and they were 18.
the 8 girls that did not pass the test got off without
    MIP's they were 16-17 yr.
The two cops were both guys.
Do we have a selective Prosecution case? Or is it just cops
    being stupid.
