    Post: reverse discrimination

I live in a small town in NC, called KINGSTOWN. An
incorporated township of about 1200 to 1300 people, 900
registered voters. Of those persons, 4 are white and those
all reside in my household. I hear there's a couple that's
inter-racially married so that brings in a possibility of 1
or 2 more whites. Here's the problem. Everything that goes
onh here is about being black. One town meeting I was told
by the mayor that I had nothing to say about what goes on
in the town and that I didn't belong. Other comments: At a
meeting one of the council members talked of a newly added
park and discussed a baseball field to which he replied
that he'd been told by residents that baseball was "a white
    man's game".
I phoned the mayor, and under NC law I deserve minority
representation and by the same law the mayor has the
authority to appoint me to the council, to which there are
two vacancies. He refused so I mailed letters to all
council members as well as the mayor stating I intended to
receive minority representation. 2 months have passed and
to date there's nothing being done.
The city of Kingstown receives grants on it's all-black
status. the city does everything it can to remain all
black. IT wants nothing to do with whites yet tried hard to
make it appear as though it's not a racially motivated
entity. There is no white involvement from the rest of the
county towards the town. We purchased property not knowing
these things however it should make no difference.
I don't ask for anything special. I ask that if I'm
required to may taxes to this city then I get
representation on their council which will have a view
    that's NOT specifically black-oriented.
