Post: child support for adult children

I have a very important matter and need help. My mother just got a pay out for shild support from my father and I am 27 years old. The time he was ordered to pay was from age 16-18. At that time my mother and father got back together but he still owed support and I decided to live with a friend and I never lived with either of them and now with my mother recieving this back support payment she feels it is hers and I dont. I feel that the money should belong to me. I never met my father until I was 15 and he has never done a thing to help raise I pretty much raised myself forced to get a job to help my friend's mother who was so kind to let me live there. I just need to know what I should do. Do I have to take my mother to court and sue her? I will if i must. I just wonder if it would be worth it. I have two children and one on the way I could really use the money. I would appreciate any info. Thank you. Melissa, Indiana
