As a frustrated parent of soon to be a kindergardener with nut allergy, I am not yet sure if I will be able to sent my five year old daughter to school this fall. I have interviewed teachers and principals of our area and felt that my child will not be safe. I wish the school mentioned above is in my neighborhood. I do not think of the ban as infringement of one's right, but rather as a care for those in need. We all want our children to learn values such as love, compassion, caring others and so on. I don't think any parent with right mind would yell INJUSTICE, because their kid can't have peanut butter for lunch. Some say they must have nut protein daily(medical and nutritional reasons?). So have it for dinner. How would you feel? how would your child feel? if a school mate got sick or risk losing life for your right to eat PB&J sandwich. This is the United States of America. We have prime parking spots in malls and shopping centers reserved for handicapped. We spend billions of tax money in our court system to screen out those one in a hundred or even thousand who might be innocent. We open doors for others. WE CARE FOR OTHERS. I don't think it would be too bad if you could sacrifice a little for the sake of others.
