It is wrong of them to ban products that "may contain traces of nuts" many
food companies now add this statement routinely to their packaging so
that they can never be sued. My son is has a nut allergy and we have to
carry adrenaline in case he goes into shock. However he eats anything
where "may contain traces of nuts" is written on the packaging. We do not
have a household ban on peanuts, however we don't share the same knife
at the kitchen table!

You couldn't tempt my son to eat a peanut nor anything that looks like a
nut and he has been like that since that age of two. If a kid teases him that
something has nuts in it he won't eat it at all, and it is very difficult to
persuade him that it is in fact alright and that the boy was joking.
