Post: extreme harrassment from ex-boyfriends friends and family

Posted by teenyone, mmmoo85@yahoo.com, on 6/28/03

im not sure if im sending this to the right area, but i
have a serious problem with my ex-boyfriend's friends and
especially family. i am only 17 and my ex-boyfriend and i
have had a rocky relationship, and every time there has
been an incident, his family and friends have gone out of
their way to harrass me about it. He is a great guy, but he
is torn between me and his family, defending each one to
each other. i have been contacted in instant messages, and
even when i have blocked them they have managed to get
their message through. I have been called a slut, a whore,
a bitch, etc. and have felt personally threatened when his
sister (20 years old) called me his skinny ass girlfriend
and said she could take me on. Following that comment, i
told him that if she came near me i would have her
arrested, and it stopped for awhile but it has started
again. The sister has listened in on phone conversations,
picking up little things i say and blowing them totally out
of porportion and making me look awful to his family. His
friends have spread rumors, called me a whore and a slut.
The entire situation has damaged my self-esteem and made me
feel extremly self concious about myself. it needs to stop.
However, since none of these people go to my high school, i
dont know how to approach it, as if they were i would
report it to administration. what are my legal rights here
and how should i go about defending myself?
