Post: Learning Disability

Posted by Patricia on 7/15/08
I am in the Marshall University school of nursing in Huntington West Virginia. I am the 2nd dark skin african american in the history (since the inception) of the nursing program. One of the nursing teaching 'diagnosed' me with Learning Disability at 53 and said I need to be tested. 1. Nurses do not diagnose Learning Disability according to the Nanda List of Nuring Diagnoses. 2. She told the 2nd dark skin african american in the history of the program. 3. She is not a psychologist; she is a nurse The state attorney general's office did nothing about it (and he is aware I am the 2nd dark african american since the school's inception). I am never been so outraged in my life as receiving such an outrageous, phony diagnoses. Anyone else out there been labelled as Learning Disability?
