Andy, I think more detail is necessary for your post to be
understood. What do you mean that you were accused
of "trying to take a black man's job"? Was there a job open
that they wanted to fill with an African American? Or was
there an incumbent in the job (who was black) that for some
reason somebody felt you were trying to get that job.
I think you need to explain further what your supervisor said
as well. Surely there was more to the conversation than you
wrote. In any event, discrimination based on race
(regardless of which race someone is) is prohibited. If the
SOLE reason you are being told you cannot move into different
opportunities is because of your gender or race, that is
illegal.
