    You ask a very broad based question that needs some qualifiers
    added before a complete answer can be given. But , for
    starters, A grievance procedure should exist within your
    collective bargaining agreement and or delineated in your
    unions bylaws pretty musch you are bound by its terms untill
    you have exhausted all avenues available. So file away and let
    your union do its job and if you feel that they misrepresented
    you or did not properly represent you speak to a labor lawyer
    about filing a "Duty of Fair Representation " charge with the
    appropriate court / agency............good luck
