Post: Discrimination

I recently interviewed for a job, I was hired pending a drug screen and a background check, the application asked for arrests within the last 5 yrs, my background check showed a DUI from 5/94 (my sr yr of hs), and a suspended lisence charge 12/95 (resulting from the DUI, sr22 lapse). I was told I was turned down the job because of these 2 misdemeanors, what happened to equal oppertunity employer? Am I being discriminated against? This is in Rhode Island
