Re: DYFS degenerates

    Hi. I am a DYFS worker. Affected by the events of September 11 I left my
    previous job and joined the Division of Youth and Family Services, in the
    hopes I could better humanity in just a small fashion, by protecting
    children. And I do protect children. Privacy Laws forclose any attempt by
    me to defend myself and my profession or to provide examples of childen I
    have personally protected who are or have been under my caseload. To those
    of you who believe we go home and forget about the anguish we've seen,
    both on the faces of the children and the parents, I can only say I wish
    you could see what I see and meet some of the case workers in my office,
    who, swimming against the tide and against all obstacles including the
    ones put there by DYFS itself, attempt to do the right thing, the moral
    thing day in and day out, at great cost to their health, their nervous
    systems and their sanity. Whoever you are Bri, you may have a moral
    argument against the Division, you may have been unjustly and royally
    screwed, but the venom you spew against people you don't know gives me
    pause. If everyone is innocent, why do the children keep dying at the
    hands of those who are supposed to love them? Is no one guilty of child
    abuse? Are DYFS workers "the scum of the earth?" How about sexual
    predators? Child Rapists? Child molestors? Parents who beat their kids
    until they have scars upon scars? Parents who use drugs or get drunk and
    drive with their kids in their cars? I guess it's the DYFS worker who is
    morally bankrupt. I guess in a society that no longer takes any
    responsibility for any of it's actions its the DYFS worker who destroys
    families and not a drug addict, or drunk, or child beater.
