    I'm not a DYFS worker but I do work closely with many workers and
    have found most to be caring and definitely on the side of the
    family. I do not believe the goal of DYFS is to take children away
    from families unless the children's safety is at risk and their is
    no other recourse. Several years ago, it may have been a different
    story but under Commissioner Ryan, good things are happening in NJ.
    If you have been wrongly accused and DYFS finds the allegations
    are substantiated, find a lawyer and get help. People are fallible
    and make mistakes so it could happen but I don't believe it is as
    widespread as some claim. If the allegatios are unsubstatiated,
    don't worry about it. Go back to raising your family and continue
    to do right by your children. DYFS workers do not take glee in
    your pain but are only trying to protect children who are, or may
    be at risk of abuse and neglect. Good luck!
