Post: UPDATE, forger-lawyer, removal from case
Posted by Cindy on 7/25/03
One of the people that responded to my earlier thread, "lawyer forged our signatures," asked for an update when we had one. The lawyer was supposed to have been deposed by the OK state Bar association this week. I was told in writing by the bar that I was not allowed to be at the deposition. When I double checked on this the bar got testy with me and changed it's previous offer to send me a copy of the transcripts to the statement they might send me part of them. Also, the court records which we have checked periodically did not show that the attorney had removed himself as of late June or early July, the last time we looked. All of a sudden, after we inquired about the "motion to remove counsel," (a suggestion thankfully given by the person who asked for the update), the lawyer was removed, but the removal document is stamp dated for May...hmmmmm...normally any changes in our case have show up almost immediately. At any rate, we are now trying to find out if his removal also removes his "attorneys lien" which the lawyer we may hire now said we have to get off there or he can't help us. I still find it incredible and sad that I had to get legal info from a message board when we were paying and consulting locally for legal help, and it was not given. Not ONE lawyer here knew or would tell us how to remove this joker from our case after he committed forgery. If the lawyer who forged my husbands and my signatures is not punished for this I will certainly have no faith that our state holds the legal profession accountable in any way.
