    Dear Lynn,

    From everything you say, it sounds like you have good lawyer.
    Who is he? I'd like to know. Might want to hook up with him
    sometime. Any lawyer that would even suggest you file a Civil Rights
    suit must be a pretty good lawyer. And he handled a preliiminary
    exam and not they are not pushing the charge. Hey! You were luck
    you were able to get that lawyer, and you were fortunate that you
    could make that $25,000 bond. Just think how bad it would have been
    if you could not have afforded that bond. In Lake Charles our jails
    are full to the brim with men who can't make bail and whom await a
    trial which never seems to come. One reason is that the higher that
    the bonds are set, the more money the judges get. That's the law.
    What a law! Therefore, there is a financial incentive to set the
    bonds as high as possible, and the judges are the ones who fix the
    amount of the bond. It is the Criminal "Justice" scandal of the
    nation. Money, money, momey, gimme the money! Got money, y0u get
    justice! No money, no justice.

    THEIR CRIME

    I visit prisons all the time.
    They're filled with men
    Whose greatest crime
    Is that they haven't got a dime.

    They languish in their prison cells
    Unable there to make their bails;
    For the higher that their bonds are set,
    The more money that the judges get.

    Presumed innocent, they serve their time;
    Are not convicted of a crime;
    But despairing in a prison cell,
    They plead guilty to get out of jail

    And so, my friends, as you can see,
    That' not the way it's s'posed to be!

    -h.p.

    SUCH GREED!

    Guilty of a crime!
    Thousand dollar fine.
    But I don't have a dime.
    I'll just serve my time.
    But, Your Honor, please!
    Really, all those fees!
    Shut up Black boy!
    We'll give you some time.
    Admit you to bail.
    How much time do you need?
    We'll work with you.
    SUCH GREED!

    h.p.

    There is more to it all than this, but this is something to
    think about. We need a new Constitution in the U.S. A Constitution
    that is 200 years old is not sufficient for this age of
    interplanetary space travel, computer- and bio-technology and
    forensic DNA testing.

    Best of luck!

    Sincerely,

    Hardy Parkerson, Atty.
