Post: Overbilling Attorney
Posted by mike leveque on 7/12/05
My 19 year old child died in a car crash. My ex wife hires an Attorney. Me and ex had 4 insurance policies on our child, the attorney filled out the proper paperwork and recieved around 200,000 in money that was already on the table. I.E. Life insurance policies. He then charged 48,500 for his work. I dispute this because he only filled out 4 forms. But since I did'nt hier him I can't have it Arbtrated. But since my child did'nt have a will me and ex split 50/50. Is there anyone who knows any case laws, or opinions where since I believe he is overcharging. But I can't anything about it?
