My elderly parents were caught up in a "prepaid cremation
scam" several months ago and our local TV station did an
investigative report on it. They were interviewed and it
was broadcast on the news. Unfortunately their identity
(SSN and telephone numbers) were not edited or blured out
and were clearly visible for a good period of time. Is
that TV station liable in any way for what could come of
it? My parents signed up for some protection at their bank
when they found out and it will cost them a precious
$15/month from their fixed income.
