Post: Child Support Change Interstate
Posted by Missy on 3/21/07
I live in Alabama. My ex husband lives in Georgia. We were divorced in GA and child support amounts set in GA. The ex has filed to have his child support renegotiated by Alabama standards and has asked that Alabama take jurisdiction. Alabama child support is calculated based on percentages of both parents income, Georgia's calculation is based on only a percentage of non-custodial parent's income. Can he do this?
