I live in florida and I had papers sent from a non-lawyer
for about $350. My sons have lived with me for several years
and my X would send back my support to me, but that was it.
She didn't agree to the papers asking her for support, so we
went to mediation. I'm now the primary residence and she
pays child support for them. Most guidelines are setup in
most states. But check with your family county clerks office
in your area, some even offer classes to help out.
