My situation is rather complicated. I got a divorce when my
son was 1 year old. At this time he was with his father and
he tried taking custody. I fought it and won. His father
had a past of drug abuse and used to beat me. I took my son
but due to child care issues he has been going back and
forth between our two homes. There were times when I
wouldn't see my son for about 3 weeks straight but I would
call and check on him frequently. About a month ago I heard
my ex husband was dealing and doing drugs again. He has no
job, besides drug dealing, and has no home. He goes between
his mom's and his friends apartments. When I found all this
out I asked my dad's help to pay child support and I took
my son back from his dad. My son is now 3 and doesn't even
want to see his dad anymore. He is not paying child
support, doesn't have health insurance for my son, which
was court ordered and hardly ever calls. He has called
twice and said he was going to go see him then he never
calls or shows up. All he does now is go clubbin every
night and deal drugs. What would I have to do to take full
custody away from my ex husband or do you feel I shouldn't?
