    Post: Last Name on BC

In California, if the father and mother are unwed, but the
father of the child shows up at the hospital and signs the
declaration of paternity and birth certificate, who has
the right to give the child the last name if we cannot
    agree?

If I give the child my last name, can the father fight me
in court to have this changed in the future? On what
grounds would a judge determine that this should happen,
    if possible?
