    The lower-income spouse needs to get an attorney. The lower-
    income spouse can seek alimony all s/he wants. It's up to the
    court to make a ruling on the request & the court will make a
    ruling according to the particular states laws & take into all
    the factors the court is required to consider. The lower-income
    spouse needs to get an attorney asap.
