Post: Child support problems

Posted by Billy on 8/12/08

I owe over $40,000 in child support. I am an Iraq war
veteran who has been waiting on disability for ptsd for over
4 years. I was turned down by the VA and am appealing. I
also have filed for SSI through the state of Louisiana. I
was also turned down and am appealing that decision.
However I can't wait very much longer as my disability has
been a financial detriment to my family. My question is if
I try to go to trade school and get a job is it likely of a
certainty that I will be arrested for past due support? I
have post traumatic stress disorder, but I don't know how
much longer I can watch my family suffer because of my
illness. Someone please give me some advice on what to do.
I am in a bad spot and am trying to figure out how to get
    out. thanks
    Billy
