Post: child custody

I'm the girlfriend of a nineteen year old father. He takes
care of his baby girl, she is 7 months old. The mother and
the father had a mutual agreement to take turns taking
care of the baby girl. the last few months the mother has
called or text maessaged him early and late at night, to
come get the baby and it has turned into a one man show.
He is afraid if he tried to get custody of the baby girl
the mother would get full rights and get bay even though
she only wants baby right now when convienent for her.
What would his rights be?
