Thanks! all states are different but, you don't need to worry as to whether the support order will be terminated. It is only suspended. Obviously since the person owing has no money to pay it with, which is a nice thing for the court to do, because in some states they accuse you of being able to make more money than you are and thus you have a huge bill assessed against you without any means of paying it! Which all goes to the point of, the judges depending on their bias, may want to CREATE an arrears that has to be paid back. In your case he got a nice judge or maybe the state says they have to do it the more humane and reasonable way. And there will still be arrears, what he already owes; arrears NEVER die even if the payments are terminated! So look to the future when he is able to pay, then get the support order modified based on his making more money. in the meantime, get welfare if necessary, and the state will collect the support for you, they want their welfare money paid back to them through his support.
