Post: Do you have to attend your own divorce???

    Posted by Marty on 6/23/11

Hoping someone can help. I'm at a loss, and my boss it too.
    Incidentally, we're in Texas.

The great thing about family law is that there's no end to
the new twists that walk through the door.

A guy calls us and says son and daughter-in-law are both in
the military and both stationed overseas. Son wants a
divorce and he wants it ASAP!

I'm thinking the answer is no but wanted to double-check. Is
there a way for him to get a divorce going without being
physically present. The father says if a military person can
get married by proxy then they should be able to get
divorced by proxy... and I have to admit there's actually
    some logic to that statement.

    Any info would be appreciated.
