Post: Marriage to permanent resident in process of being naturaliz

Posted by Rebecca on 8/19/09

My fiance is currently a permanent resident in the process
of getting his citizenship. He submitted the paperwork about
1 month ago, has already gotten his fingerprints done, and
we are assuming it will probably take close to a year for
    him to be naturalized.

I live in the US under an E-2 dependent visa, which will
expire in 13 months, when I turn 21.

We are planning on getting married in 6 months, at which
time my fiance will probably not be naturalized yet. Is it
possible to simply wait to file my adjustment of status
until he is naturalized? This would possibly be 6 months
after the wedding, perhaps only a couple of months before I
am due to leave the US.

Would this cause problems? Any advice would be greatly
    appreciated.
