Post: Possible inheritance

I am aware of the many scams requesting good faith deposits
in USA accounts from overseas banks and so forth. Is there
any way to check if this is legitimate; My son was notified
by an attorney in Malaysia, had his correct name, and
stated he was listed in an inheritance. My son actually
knew the deceased and knew he was from Malaysia. The
attorney sent official looking documents, 15 pages worth,
along with a copy of his passport via e-mail. Of course,
however, to probate the inheritance, 5.7 mil. USD, he needs
$2,700. Too good to be true? Any ideas on checking this out?
