No, you cannot. People are doing it, but technically (and if they catch up with you), you will owe ASCAP, BMI, and/or SESAC. If you make the tunes available for download without a license, you can get yourself in big trouble. If you record them as an artist (cover versions), you will also owe Harry Fox Agency. GJ
