    Hello.

I am a Software Architect / Engineer with 23 Years in the field. I
do not have a degree. I have considered taking the FE exam to
become qualified to become a Patent Agent, and this would really
not be a problem, except for the lead time between taking that
exam and the Patent Bar -- 6 months.

Is it possible that USPTO might qualify me on experience alone,
since I am a "special case" -- an autodiadact? Or are they
pedantic about the rules? I would rather not have to wait the
better part of a year to become a Patent Agent, since the
registration test is only given twice a year, and at the same time
    the FE exam is given!!!!

    Thanks.
