Post: Music/Intellectual Property Expert Witness????

Dear Music/Entertainment/Copyright/Intellectual Property
Rights' Attorneys:
I am interested in making myself available as a
consultant/expert witness in the field of music... What do
you look for in a consultant/witness? What criteria/factors
are involved in your search/selection process? How can I
get started in this field?
A quick thumbnail sketch of my background-- I have an A.S.
in Performance, a B.S. in Music (Music History-- American
Popular Music orientation), and I am completing an M.A. in
World Music & Culture (Ethnomusicology). I haven't decided
yet whether or not to pursue a Phd., but it is a distinct
possibility. I am also considering taking the necessary
coursework to become a certified paralegal.
I have had an over 20 year career in various areas/aspects
of the music business, including
production/arranging/songwriting, performance, education,
and private instruction. I own an independent production
company, and we are now branching-out with a publishing
company and independent record label. I am a published
music journalist (print publications/magazines, and the
World-Wide Web), and have a background in radio (DJ/program
host, producer/director, operations manager).
What else would I need? What's next? Any suggestions?
I would very much appreciate your advice and responses...
Sincerely,
Gregg Juke
