Maybe I'm a little late for this one, but you don't need the
Ph.D. to handle the Biotechnolgy science. A master's in
Biochem, Molecular Biology, or Pharmacology is fine. The
perception, however, is that to attract clients to a firm, a
Ph.D. is the way to go. Rob.
