    I would be surprised if the knowledge-base of a non-PhD
    patent attorney could compare to that of someone with a
    PhD. However, if you are extremely sharp and read a
    hellofalot, you may be able to do the work equally as well.
    Another drawback to not having a PhD is that you will not
    look as good to potential clients without doctoral expertise.
