hi Siobhan,
my name is angie sergo and i have been looking for ways to do
the same as you and i found your story and it relates alot
to how things have been for me for the last 9 or 10 years.
My mom has been through two divorces and is in an abusive
marrige now and she is having an affair with her bestfriends
husband. Ever since i can remeber i have done everything for
myself. I have taken care of my younger sister, achieved good
grades, and have basicly raised myself. My mom also has a
very bad drinking problem and the only time she is happy is
when she is drunk. About a year ago i tried to commit
suicide myself and this did me no good! Actually i got into
more trouble for this. My mom and i fought alot and we still
do whenever we try to talk about things. Alot of times
things get out of hand and we scream and yell. This year one
morning we got into an arguement and i through the phone and
she got mad and punched me in the face. The cops were called
but she told them i was disrespectful and that i needed to
learn my place which would be being a child and so they just
left it. Everything is all good when i am not home, but when
i am everything gets bad again! So i am writing to you to
see if you can help me at all since we seem to have similar
sittuations! I will be 16 in 120 days!
