Most patent firms prefer the traditional engineering
degrees: electrical, mechanical, and chemical. They also
like biochemical and molecular biology types. However,
patent firms highly prefer PhDs for biochemical and
molecular biology. Outside of biochemical and molecular
biology, a PhD may not be worth the extra effort.
