The Patent and Trademark Office has a web-site at
, which you will find is quite helpful. Filing a
patent involves a lot of writing from scratch, and form-filling
is only a minor part of it. The most impotant part is writing
the claims, which determine the scope of the monopoly. It is
possible to do it yourself, although most hire a patent agent or
patent attorney. A fairly good book called 'Patent It Yourself'
is published by Nolo, and that would make a good starting point.
Reading the book should help you to make informed decisions on
how you want to proceed (I have no connection with the publishers).Regards, Alun Palmer
