Think hard about this. 1. Patent law is interesting the work however is grueling. 2. The patent bar exam is tough (however, I passed it first try). 3. There are an excess of patent attorneys at the moment and they will get most of the jobs. 3. This makes it hard to get the experience you need. (Attorneys hate to train agents). 4. You will probably soon want to get a law degree as being a patent agent seems to be a dead end. 5. Patent agents in biotechnology (unlike chemical/pharmaceutical) are abundant (at least in CA).
