    Post: PhD and patent law

    Posted by Debbie on 11/13/03

I have a PhD in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins and am
currently doing a postdoctoral fellowship. After much
thought and research, I have decided that I want to go into
patent law, preferably in NYC. What would you recommend for
getting started in the job search? Would it be acceptable
to email or call the various firms that I know have
techinical specialist training programs, or is it better to
just send these firms a resume and cover letter without
first determining that they are looking to hire someone?
    Thanks for your input.
