Take a look at the PTO bulletin under option B. In years
past, the PTO has given a hard time to CS graduates not being
in recognized programs. However, it is my undertanding that
they are now giving less scrutiny. It is important that you
have taken at least two semesters of Physics w/ lab or
Chemistry w/ lab. These courses are probably required as
part of the curriculum. Also, the PTO will not accept credit
for any business programming courses or soft computer science
courses, such as MIS. However, from what I understand,
Rutgers has a pretty good program.

I do agree with the person who said EE is the better major.
However, CS is still considered respectable. Right now the
job market for newbies is very soft, and even people with
excellent credentials are having a hard time breaking in.
The job market for laterals is a bit better. The reason for
the flat job market is that patent filings have barely
increased, and companies are cutting back on research. The
only "hot" area presently is patent attorneys with PhD's in
biotech. Every other area is highly competetive.
Unfortunatly, many students continue to believe that IP is
    still a very hot field.
