Simply ask him to leave. There should be no hard feelings
he/she will understand the big picture it is their
resposibility to take of their life. Sublease and find a new
roomate remain friends with your old. Let them know they
have time to pay you back when they get back on their feet.
This way you will actually see some money and still have a
friend.
