    Yes, forget about the LLM. Concentrate on passing the USPTO "bar" exam. If you still haven't gotten a position, do legal work if possible in other IP areas like licensing, patent litigation, trademark etc. I'd say stick to legal work for the near term rather than going for a Ph.D. And one more thing, I love it when people say go and work for the USPTO; there's no guarantee they will hire you just because you show up at their job interview fairs. Yes, I've seen it happen with B.S. EE majors, but that's about all I've seen it happen to.
