I think any job that you could imagine doing effectively by telecomuting is a strong candidate for offshoring. If the job requires expertise in English and technical skills, right now the logical choice seems to be India, but for other work there are other places even cheaper. There are some advantages to having a local practitioner draft your patent applications, but why would someone in Atlanta prefer a person in Texas over someone in India?
