The copyright law isn't specifically geared towards house
plans. The copyright law can be found at Title 17 of the
United States Code. Architectural plans can be copyrightable
works. I believe they would fall under the subject matter of
pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works.
I would recommend that you consult an attorney who specializes
in copyright law; or, alternatively, you can visit your local
law library and ask the librarian for research assistance.
