Post: PhD in Chemistry: Prospect in becoming a patent agent?

Hi, I'm in need of your help badly. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I got my my PhD in Chemistry in Canada and did 1.5 yr Post doc in USA (MIT) and currently reside in east coast of US. My experience includes analytical chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, computational chemistry. I worked for a pharmaceutical company for about under a year before I graduated with my PhD. And I took 5 years break after I finish my post doc. I also obtained certificates in bioinformatics during the break. Now I'm very interested in taking the patent bar exam and becoming a patent agent. But before I commit myself I'd really like to know the prospect of the job market (and the pay) in this area. Thank you very much. Jackie
