Post: Nonpaying persons leaving personal property

Posted by donna on 5/19/08
If a nonpaying person leaves property (baskets, kitchen items, canned goods etc) on my property for a 1 1/2 years with no intention of picking up and removing the items, what are my rights to this property? These items are considered to be business items left by a step-child. She has not claimed these items for 17 mos. Do I have the right to use or dispose of these items as I see fit? Located in the state of Georgia.
