Post: Landlord wanted eviction, tenant obtained stay-order and won

Posted by Anonymous on 7/01/08

I have a rental property in Las Vegas. The tenant did not
pay rents regularly thereby piling up the total balance to
$10K, including the utility bills not paid. When I tried to
evict, they obtained a stay-order from Justice Court and the
day of hearing, the judge did not give any opportunity to me
to explain. Instead, she denied the motion. I filed an
appeal at the district court and now waiting for the
hearing. How can I get rid of this tenant, who told all lies
to the judge, even though I had written proof with me. Can I
evict them on the basis of utility bills not being paid? The
LV law does not allow the owner to disconnect the garbage
service as long as there is someone at the house. Please
suggest. Any other way to evict? Thank you....
