Post: Landlord broke Decurity Deposit Law in NH

Posted by Michelle on 9/16/08

Hi, my landlord obtained more than the limited security
deposit in the state of NH from me. If I choose to file
suit on him, what can I expect to get in damages? NH does
not allow more than 1 months rent to be accepted for
security deposit. My landlord obtained 1 months rent and
an additional $800 pet deposit. He does own over 20
properties which he does rent so he is definately
considered a landlord. Please help me out.
