Post: Eviction

I'm currently in the process of being evicted from my
apartment for non-payment of rent. I've always been
caught up on my rent, but haven't paid this month because
they towed my car.
Last month, I found a sticker on my car saying it would be
towed. It had been broken in the parking spot and the tag
had been stolen, so they wanted to tow it. I immediately
spoke with management, and she told me not to worry about
it, they wouldn't tow it. 2 days later it was gone.
There are no signs posted anywhere saying it would be
towed from the lot if left, and it's not in the lease
anywhere. I've been going back and forth with these
people for the past month trying to get my car back. This
month, she told me I would have to pay something, but they
would credit my rent.
I'd been leaving her messages since the first trying to
find out how much it was going to be, so I could pay the
rent. She didn't get back to me until after I had gotten
an eviction notice on my door for nonpayment. Now, she
says they're not going to get the car out, and I need to
pay or I'm going to be evicted.
My question is this: I know an eviction on your record
isn't a good thing, and I'm trying to avoid it at all
costs. Should I let this be taken to court and counter-
sue for my car being towed? Or just take it as a loss,
and move? Because I'm not paying anything until I get my
car back.
