Post: Need NJ bedbug notification and notice help

Help, I had a tenant bring in some bedbugs and then I hired a company to remove them who guaranteed them to be gone. Then, a tenant moved in and notified me after leaving that he was leaving. Now, he said that he was justified as a result of me not notifying him of them, even though I was told by the company that they were already gone. What is the law on bedbug notification? Do I have to notify every tenant from now on that it was there beforehand? This is crazy. Plus, I know there was a discussion of a new law going into effect but it was never passed. Even if it does, I have a 2-family and just rent out both sides so the way I read it, it wouldnt apply to my property. Help, now he is threatening a lawsuit when he didnt even tell me his concerns until after he had already left. Plus, I found out later he was a neat freak and vacuumed his room daily. What can I do now and what is required for me to do? An attorney friend told me I was in the right on this but I want to know if anyone can concur this or has been in this siutation before in court and what was the outcome on it. Thanks so much for your help.
