Post: Property abandonment

I am a landlord that requires all tenants to sign a rules
and regulations notice at the time of move-in. On these
rules and regs it states absolutley no propane grills are
allowed on property. In 12/06 we sent out a rules and regs
reminder about propane grills and gave them sufficient
time to remove all items or we would have to remove these
items and assess a fine.
1 of the tenants that did not remove it, was assessed a
fine a the grill was taken and stored.
The father called (co-signer) and we explained why we
charged the fine, he asked if he could pick up the grill,
we said he could make arrangements and we would bring to
the office where he could pick up and remove off the
property.
In 3/30/07, He calls trying to claim the grill which we
discarded in 02/07 becaused it was never picked up.
He threatens legal action, does he have a case?
